Startlogic VPS service review - 6 months

After 6 months with Startlogic resulting in our cancelling the account I thought I would share our experiences with them here.
We moved to a VPS with Startlogic due to previously poor service with Ipower in terms of support on our various shared accounts. So we decided to integrate all of our accounts on one VPS account. We spoke to Startlogic sales prior to the move and voiced our concerns based on our Ipower experiences, they passed us to their tech service manager and we were assured all would be different. Experience has proved otherwise.
Emailing support - waste of time as no response was the standard reply, following it up by phone and requesting an email update also a waste of time as no update arrives in your mailbox, causing further calls, further long periods on hold and continued frustration.
Calling support - anything up to an hour on hold, assuming it gets answered at all (regardless of department), once the call does go through it’s the usual inevitable response of it looks OK from here. Even providing a trace-route showing the point of failure doesn’t appear to change this Outlook.
Finally, I sent in an account cancellation following their process, received the autoresponse with a ticket number and the following day received a mail from renewal stating they had attempted to charge my card for renewal of the account, apart from the fact I had previously cancelled via their process we had repeatedly told whoever we spoke to that the account was not going to be renewed due to the substandard service we had received.
Overall I would say despite the fact their packages look attractive in terms of features avoid them like the plague. I doubt I could recommend any company less than these people.
As a side note, as we are all aware they claim to be totally separate from Ipower, trace-routes show routing and addressing still registered to Ipower, problems experienced by Startlogic are also experienced within Ipower … I would have to question the reality of the separation between the two entities…
