XeHost hosting service review by newbie

I signed up with XeHost last Saturday. The signup was ok, although they claim they verify your phone number. My phone was engaged when I signed up, so I thought it might affect the signup. I emailed them with no response. Turns out there was never any phone call anyway.
Everything with the actual hosting seems alright. They use RVSkin on cpanel - I prefer X2, but that’s personal preference.
The first time I tried to use Fantastico, it said that it was disabled. I went to the “24/7 live chat” to ask why. I waited about 15 minutes and never got to speak to anyone. When I went back again, it worked, so it must have just been a temporary problem.
I also need a CNAME change on my domain, which I can’t do from cpanel. I think they can do this. I went to live chat, but again after waiting 10 minutes I left. I then sent them an email. That was 36 hours ago, I’ve still yet to receive a reply or even acknowledgement. Summary: Avoid!
